Puyallup, WA – June 12, 2009 – Alternative/progressive rocker groups, Coheed and Cambria, plus Brand New will take the stage at the 2009 Puyallup Fair. Jaguar Love is opening the show. Coheed and Cambria have followed the music of Black Sabbath, and created their sound inspired by the popular group. They just released their latest project on March 24th, Neverender: Children of the Fence, a DVD/CD boxed set. Brand New entered the punk-pop scene in 2000, and since that time have produced three albums, including the highly popular The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me. The band’s two videos have found constant airplay on MTV, gaining a large following.

Coheed and Cambria/Brand New, with Jaguar Love opening will perform on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 7:00 p.m. The concert, part of Columbia Bank’s Puyallup Fair Concert Series will start selling tickets on Saturday, June 20 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster. Ticket prices are $25 / $30 / $32 / $37, and include Fair gate admission, and seats are reserved.

Coheed and Cambria, the progressive rock outfit is spreading their wings by playing to new audiences in 2009. Since they started their group in 1995, they are known for incorporating progressive rock and post-grunge into their sound.

Claudio Sanchez and Travis Stever’s band creates concept albums that reveal a science fiction storyline called The Amory Wars, a series of comics written by lead singer Claudio Sanchez. The band has released four studio albums, two live albums, and several special-edition releases. Their fourth release was in 2007, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow. In 2008, the band held a series of four-day shows, Neverender, where they played their studio albums in succession.

Black Sabbath (Dio version) was Claudio and Travis’ favorite group growing up, and Claudio’s very first concert - at New York’s Beacon Theater in October of 1992. The night proved to be one of the most influential of his life. “I got the overwhelming feeling that the whole stage was alive--the lights seemed to be as controlled by the sounds as everyone there, and I would exit the venue that night with a fire lit under me.” Ironically, 17 years later and they are sharing the stage with Black Sabbath on August 2009 concerts. Formed on Long Island, NY, Brand New appeared on the punk-pop scene in 2000. Consisting of drummer Brian Lane, vocalist/guitarist Jesse Lacey, bassist Garrett Tierney, and guitarist Vin Accardi, the band began making a name for itself on the local scene with a self-released four-song demo and shows with bands like Midtown and Glassjaw. In 2001, they issued their first record, Your Favorite Weapon, followed by their second release, Deja Entendu in the summer of 2003.

The group’s two music videos, “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows” and “Sic Transit Gloria…Glory Fades” found constant airplay on MTV. After an extended quiet spell, Brand New returned to make U.S. concert appearances in the summer of 2006, their first in three years, as well as releasing their latest album in November 2006, titled The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.
